SHARE

The National Telecommunication and Information Association (NTIA) is accepting comments on its internet policies for 2018 and beyond.  The comments will be used by the agency in setting policy and priorities.

The questions that NTIA is asking center on the following topics:

  • The Free Flow of Information and Jurisdiction – What are the challenges to the free flow of information online? How might NTIA better assist with jurisdictional challenges on the internet? Which international venues are most appropriate to address questions of internet policy?
  • Multistakeholder approach to internet governance – Is the multistakeholder approach the best way to support an environment for the internet to grow? Are there some areas where this is not effective?
  • Privacy and security – In what ways are cybersecurity threats harming international commerce? How may responses to these threats impact international commerce?
  • Emerging technologies and trends – What are the best practices for promoting innovation and investment for emerging technologies? Which technologies should be the focus of international policy?

Comments are due by July 2, 2018. They may be submitted electronically by email to iipp2018@ntia.doc.gov, or by mail to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Avenue NW, Room 4725, Attn: Fiona Alexander, Washington, DC 20230.
