Wireline Competition Bureau Solicits Comments on Cisco Webex Petition for Review of USAC Audit Findings

SHARE

The Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC”) Wireline Competition Bureau (“Bureau”) is soliciting comments on Cisco WebEx LLC’s (“WebEx”) request for review.  WebEx seeks review of certain audit findings associated with the February 7, 2013 audit of its 2010 FCC Form 499-A by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).  Specifically, WebEx requests that the Bureau reject USAC’s reclassification (as USF-assessable “telecommunications”) of revenue associated with certain audio minutes of its WebEx service.  In the alternative, WebEx requests that the audio minutes associated with its WebEx service be assessed at fair-market value.

For additional details on the underlying Webex Petition and the broad implications USAC’s audit findings (if upheld) could have on providers CaaS, SaaS, collaboration and a wide range of information services, refer to our Firm’s earlier Client Advisory:  https://www.commlawgroup.com/news/2013/04/10/usac-reclassifies-audio-portion-of-cisco-webex-collaboration-service-as-title-ii-regulated-telecommunications-service/
