Introducing Fred Goodwin as New General Manager of The Commpliance Group and Firm C&R Services

On behalf of Helein & Marashlian, LLC, The CommLaw Group and The Commpliance Group, Inc. (“TCG”), our law firm‘s compliance consulting arm, we are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Fred Goodwin, MBA, as General Manager of TCG.  As General Manager of TCG, Fred will assume overall responsibility for managing the Compliance & Reporting Services (“C&R Services”) needs of our respective firms‘ clientele.  Fred will also provide a wide array of regulatory consulting services.  Fred officially joins our team on May 1, 2009.

Fred brings his vast experience as a regulatory affairs manager to the position.  Over the past 30 years, Fred has honed his considerable skills by serving in various regulatory management capacities for AT&T and SBC before their merger and after.

  • In his most recent position with AT&T, which lasted six years, Fred had 50-state responsibility for universal service, detariffing, access and intercarrier compensation, regulatory fees, compliance & reporting, and implementation of regulatory & legislative mandates.
  • Previously, Fred spent seven years in the Austin, TX headquarters of SBC’s rates & regulatory department, where he was responsible for managing dockets and rulemakings, and filing tariffs for private line, special access and data services.  He provided subject matter expertise and served as SWBT’s policy witness on matters related to inside wire, network interface and demarcation point issues related to CC Docket No. 88-57.
  • Fred served a three-year stint as Executive Director-Federal Regulatory for SBC’s Washington, DC office, where he interfaced directly with FCC staff on various issues including CALEA, numbering, broadband deployment, access and interstate tariffs.

Fred has an associate degree in accounting, a BS in physics, and an MBA in telecommunications management.  He has also passed both the CPA and CMA examinations.

At the same time we welcome Fred and look forward to the vast experience, personable manner, and dedication to excellence he brings with him, we regretfully announce that Audrey Glenn has resigned to pursue other opportunities.  Audrey‘s service to our clients will be missed, but we wish her well in her new endeavors and thank her for her contributions.

Until Fred joins us on May 1, 2009, all communications about any matters involving C&R Services or The Commpliance Group, in general, should be directed to Jonathan Marashlian who will for a brief period resume duties as Manager of C&R Services and TCG, the consultancy that he founded.
